FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Every True Tiger Foundation was created because new legislation allows us to come together with private donors, organizations, business leaders and individual fans to help benefit Mizzou student-athletes and programs through NIL opportunities.

This is the new reality in college athletics, and we’re determined to not only be in the game, but to be a major player in the game. We believe Mizzou has a golden opportunity to instill the importance of philanthropy and humanitarian work in its student-athletes using this NIL platform, which is why we created this non-profit organization.

Student-athletes are encouraged to seek all NIL opportunities, as there are many outstanding entities out there doing great work. We are all pulling in the same direction in the end to support Mizzou.

However, we believe that Every True Tiger Foundation is the best option for Tiger alums, fans, and donors to make the biggest impact, both now and well into the future due to its secured relationship with The University of Missouri’s Athletic Department.

A very important point is that Every True Tiger Foundation is separate from the Athletic Department. We make our own decisions.

All NIL contracts are commensurate with name, image and likeness values for the student-athletes, and it’s our place to help them find the best organizations for them to partner with.

NIL law prohibits compensation paid to student-athletes to encourage attendance at a particular institution. ETTF welcomes the opportunity to work with the student-athlete once they are enrolled.

The coach can give examples of current arrangements as a sample of future possibilities, but no specific figures are discussed with ETTF until after the student-athlete has signed with Mizzou.

Great thanks go out to State Representative and former Tiger great offensive lineman Kurtis Gregory, who worked hard to get the bill through the Legislature. It undoubtedly makes Missouri one of the more progressive states related to NIL opportunities.

Thanks to this bill, The University of Missouri and its coaches will be able to communicate with the members of the collective, and endorse ETTF to all of its alumni, fans, and donors.

ETTF will not be publicizing contract details of our student-athletes, outside of what is required by the IRS. However, student-athletes and the organizations that they are partnering with, can certainly disclose any financial goals if they choose to do so.

100% of the funds donated to ETTF will go towards supporting each of the contracted student-athletes.

We encourage our donors to trust in our process of disbursement of NIL funds.

However, if there is a particular “sports program” that you would like to support, you will have the option to do so during the checkout process.

Contracts vary based on the student-athlete and the requirements associated with them. A student-athlete who has more in-person engagement would likely earn more compensation than others who were less involved. Higher profile student-athletes may also receive more than others, but every deal is individually negotiated and agreed up by the student-athletes and ETTF.

All agreements between ETTF and student-athletes are limited in time and scope in order to provide protection for donor funds, should a student-athlete transfers away or is no longer participating in the program. Agreements are specifically structured to minimize the risks.

The efforts of the Every True Tiger Foundation team are focused on benefitting the student-athletes of all sports programs within the University of Missouri’s athletic department.

All Mizzou student-athletes are encouraged to actively seek advice from the team at ETTF in efforts to find the best NIL opportunities…

  • Our goal is to work complementary with TSF to make Mizzou more successful. Both entities can thrive with the support of fans and donors…
  • Our belief is that if we’re strong in both areas, both will have long-lasting benefits.
  • We encourage everyone to give to both ETTF and TSF if possible, as both are very beneficial for the student-athletes.

Donations to a registered 501(c)3 organization are deemed tax-deductible by the IRS. Donors will receive a Donor Acknowledgement Letter that will have the organization’s EIN number listed and will state that the donor did not receive any goods or services, once the donation is received by ETTF.

We highly recommend that each donor speaks and/or confirms their deductibility with his/her tax professional.

We’re a private non-profit organization and will not be publicizing those numbers. Rest assured that we are in great shape and off to a great start thanks to some outstanding fundraising efforts and generous gifts from individuals.

We are not starting from scratch, thanks to those outstanding contributions, we’ve had some bigtime gifts come in early to get us jumpstarted, and while we’ll continue to fundraise larger gifts, our fans can now provide a huge impact on their own by participating.

  • We’re excited to have a team of leaders with great credibility, experience and character. Everyone involved with Every True Tiger Foundation has a great passion for Mizzou…
  • Public-facing members of the ETTF team include: Chief Executive Officer Nick Garner, Executive Director Laurence Bowers, and Director of Operations Bud Sasser.  Garner is a former Vice-President of LEARFIELD’s Strategic Solution and Partnerships Department, as well as a former General Manager of Mizzou Sports Properties at the University of Missouri.  Mizzou fans will have great familiarity with both Bowers and Sasser, who were standouts for the Tigers during very successful runs for the sports of basketball and football, respectively.

Absolutely! We’re pleased to state that 100% of all donations go directly to the student-athletes. Thanks to the generous gifts of the private donors who got us started, and their annual donation commitments, all costs associated with administering the collective is covered separately, and will not impact fan donations.

By donating to ETTF, you gain access to exclusive giveaways, events, and opportunities to interact with your favorite student-athletes, in addition to receiving tax deductions for your donation.
